Rishiraj Singh donates books to mortuary library

Thiruvananthapuram: Former DGP Rishiraj Singh donated books to the library functioning in the mortuary of the medical college hospital. He donated 50 books from his collection, including M T Vasudevan Nair's Vakkukalude Vismayam, Madhavikutty's Ente Katha, and M S Faisal Khan's Yanthra Kasera.The library was started under the leadership of Kannan, a security staff member of the mortuary, to alleviate the mental stress of those waiting there during postmortem procedures. The library gained significant attention, with several of the doctors of the hospital and the police officers donating books.Singh mentioned that he learned about the library through the media. He suggested expanding the library, which currently has 250 books, and handed over novels by renowned authors to the hospital superintendent Dr B S Sunilkumar. Former superintendent Dr A Nizarudeen, assistant police surgeon Dr Manoj, and Dr Dhanya were also present on the occasion.
