Rajasenan leaves BJP, to join CPM
Thiruvananthapuram: Filmmaker and BJP state committee member Rajasenan is all set to join the CPM. The filmmaker, who contested unsuccessfully on a BJP ticket from the Aruvikkara seat in the 2016 assembly election, called on CPM state secretary M V Govindan at AKG Centre here on Saturday for a formal talk.Rajasenan, who revealed his plans to cross over to the CPM camp, told reporters that he was about to quit the saffron camp as he felt he was not treated well by the BJP. “BJP did not show justice to me, both as an artist and a politician,” he said, adding that CPM was a far better political outfit in terms of the opportunities and recognition given to artists.Rajasenan said there were a lot of drawbacks in the BJP, and he was forced to leave the party since he was meted out with neglect after neglect. Rajasenan said he would formally quit the party on Saturday itself. However, BJP state leaders said Rajasenan was accommodated in the party state committee in recognition of his artistic talent and willingness to subscribe to the BJP ideologies. “BJP cannot satiate all with the posts they aspire for. Higher responsibilities are given to people who exhibit exceptional talent and commitment,” they said, adding that the party has nothing to lose if Rajasenan deserts the BJP camp.
