Police officer hit with rickshaw

Thiruvananthapuram: A 23-year-old man hit a police officer with his three-wheeler for taking a photograph of his vehicle parked in a no-parking zone at Attakulangara. The civil police officer of traffic station Prathap Kumar S, 48, sustained a fracture on his left hand in the hit. Police arrested Ajin, 23, of Pachalloor over the incident. When the officer took a photograph of Ajith’s vehicle parked in a no-parking zone, the accused ran towards him and started abusing him. It led to a heated exchange and he hit the officer with his auto rickshaw before driving away. The officer was admitted into the medical college hospital.Police later arrested the accused near Thampanoor. Police also said that the arrested person is an accused in a case registered at Vattiyoorkavu police station. Ajin was remanded after producing before a court on charges under sections of IPC 353 for disrupting the duty of a public servant and also 294-B for abusing and also under section 117 (e) of the Kerala Police Act- 2011.

Police officers son arrested for running over farmer

Retd police officer co-accused in Jauhar univ case granted bail

Former police circle officer Aley Hasan Khan has been granted bail by the Allahabad High Court in connection with 26 cases alleging that he and former UP minister Azam Khan helped in illegally acquiring land for Jauhar University. The court noted that the FIRs were filed after a delay of 14 to 15 years and lacked specific details of the alleged incidents. It also pointed out that Khan was not in possession of any disputed land and that no sale deed had been executed in his favor. The court emphasized that the bail decision did not indicate any opinion on the merits of the cases.

Delhi police officer's death: What happened on NH9

A Delhi Police sub-inspector was killed after being run over by a speeding car while on patrol duty on NH9. The officer had flagged down a truck and was inspecting it when the car rammed him and the truck driver. The officer's leg was crushed and he died during treatment. The truck driver is being treated for injuries, while the car driver fled the scene but has been identified and will be arrested soon. The sub-inspector had just a year and a half until retirement and was known as a dedicated and hardworking policeman.
