K M Mani’s demise a great loss to assembly: Cabinet

. The cabinet that met here on Wednesday observed that Mani’s demise was a great loss to the state and especially to the state

assembly

.

Mani’s funeral will be held with full state honours at Pala on Thursday.

The obituary note of the state cabinet said Mani received the respect of people from all walks of life.

“He always stood for the interests of the state, especially for the farmers. He had taken extra care in raising the demands of the farmers and came out with several crucial policy decisions to help the farmers of the state,” read the note.

Mani holds the enviable record of being a member of the legislature for 54 years, which no one will be able to claim in future also. His straight win in all the 13 elections from Pala denotes the massive support he got from the people, it said.

The note also observed that Mani was a master of making laws and creating legislations. His contributions to the state assembly is immense, and cannot be described in few words, the note said.

Mani was instrumental in creating a better Centre-state relation and had always fought for the state’s rights before the Centre. He immensely contributed for the growth and development of the state, the obit note said.
