KOZHIKODE: Claiming that homoeopathy can provide cure to the epidemic viral fever in Andhra Pradesh which has claimed over 100 lives, the Institution of Homoeopaths, Kerala on Friday appealed to the Chandrababu Naidu Government to popularise the homoeopathy system of treatment to fight against the disease.
"It is unfortunate that the Andhra Pradesh Government has neglected homoeopathy to treat hundreds of cases affected by the viral encephalitis and we are prepared to send our team to the state to provide effective treatment," Dr S Vidya Prakash, Institution''s State Vice-President, told reporters.
Homoeopathy had helped cure the disease very effectively in the past in Andhra but the Government there had ignored it now and was resorting to other systems of treatment, he said, adding a team of homoeopaths from Kerala were prepared to travel to Andhra to provide adequate treatment to the affected.
On Indian Medical Association''s remarks that homoeopathy could not cure epidemics like Dengue fever, he said the system of medicine had proved effective in the state during the past but the Government was ignoring its practice and allotting less funds compared to allopathy.
