Kerala Film Market ahead of IFFK
T'puram: As a key component of the 29th IFFK, the second edition of the Kerala Film Market (KFM 2), jointly organized by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation and the Chalachitra Academy, will take place from Wednesday to Friday. The event will be inaugurated by culture minister Saji Cherian at Kalabhavan Theatre.
KFM 2, featuring global luminaries from the film industry, aims to provide innovative knowledge in the cinema-AVGC-XR sectors and enhance the global commercial potential of Malayalam cinema. The venues for KFM 2 include the Tagore Theatre premises, Chitranjali Studio, and Kalabhavan Theatre in the city. Film professionals from abroad and other Indian states will arrive in the capital to participate in KFM 2.
The second edition of KFM will include B2B meetings, workshops, and master classes. Producers will have the opportunity for B2B meetings with Keiko Funato, founder of the Paris-based film sales agency Alpha Violet, and Ingrid Lill Høgten, managing director and renowned producer of Barents Films AS.
Key attractions include a cinematography workshop led by world-renowned cinematographer Agnès Godard and a background music workshop led by famous French musician Béatrice Thiriet. Master classes will cover topics such as co-production and fundraising by Ingrid Lill Høgten, screenwriting by renowned screenwriter Juliette Sélas, virtual production by K Sera Sera Virtual Productions CEO Yunus Bukhari, editing by acclaimed film editor Sreekar Prasad, immersive technology for heritage by Ajith Padmanabhan, and narrative development from print to extended reality by extended reality consultant Loïc Tanga.
The ‘In Conversation' session, part of KFM 2, will feature Shaji N. Karun, Golda Sellam, Agnès Godard, Ingrid Lill Høgten, Ravi Kottarakkara, Anil Mehta, Pooja Gupta, Suresh Eriyat, Ravishankar Venkiteswaran, Manu Pava, and Ashish Kulkarni sharing knowledge and ideas with delegates through discussions on various topics.
