Corporation to introduce green protocol for karkidaka vavu
Thiruvananthapuram: The city corporation has decided to introduce green protocol during 'karkidaka vavu'. The decision was made during a review meeting convened by mayor V K Prashanth here on Tuesday.
The health wing of the city corporation has been directed to clean temple premises of Thiruvallom Parashurama temple before and after karkidaka vavu. Plastic bags won't be allowed on temple premises.
The health wing will join hands with Kerala water authority to ensure supply of drinking water during vavu. Both sides of the highway leading to the temple will also be cleaned ahead of vavu day.
The irrigation department has been entrusted with the task of regulating flow of water in the river and to make sure that people get to offer rites in hygienic conditions.
KSEB will carry out necessary maintenance work of streetlights in the area. The police have been tasked with the job of ensuring parking arrangements and to prevent thefts and other petty crimes.
All arrangements will be put in place by August 1, mayor said.
