THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The corporation health squad conducted raids in hotels at Nanthencode, Kuravankonam, Poojapura, Bakery junction, Vazhuthacaud and Nandavanam here on Saturday. Notices were issued to hotels which were found to be functioning in unhygienic conditions. A restaurant at Poojapura was also shut down due to lack of hygiene. The officials said that many hotels employed staff without health cards and personal hygiene was lacking amongst hotel staff.
Banned plastic products were also in use in many hotels.
