BJP to organize stir raising three demands

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP's state election committee meeting on Tuesday decided to organize statewide protest programmes, raising three demands related to Sabarimala. BJP will ask the state govt to file a fresh appeal before the Supreme Court to uphold the observance of tradition and customs in Sabarimala. It will also ask the govt to drop thousands of cases registered by Kerala Police against those who protested in connection with the women entry at Sabarimala. The party will also stick to its demand that the gold heist at Sabarimala be handed over to CBI.After the election committee meeting, BJP state general secretary S Suresh told reporters that the party will organize protest programmes across Kerala, raising the demands finalized at the meeting. Detailed discussions took place regarding all 140 legislative assembly constituencies in Kerala and some specific constituencies.
Leadership in all constituencies discussed candidates and the general political situation, he said. BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde (in charge of assembly elections in Kerala) and BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar were among those who attended the election committee meeting.In 14 districts, two state officials personally collected opinions from the 140 legislative assembly constituencies. These opinions were handed over to the election committee, which then conducted discussions on them.Suresh mentioned that the state election committee started sending its decisions to the central parliamentary board. Discussions will also take place regarding the constituencies where BJP and NDA alliance parties will contest. After that, the list will be submitted to the central leadership, which will take steps to announce BJP candidates. BJP state vice-president Shone George also attended the event.
