THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pooh-poohing the latest party inquiry report against him, opposition leader V S Achuthanandan alleged here on Tuesday that the Karunakaran commission report was prepared without hearing his version. "It was a commission to probe my complaint. Did he hear my version?," VS asked while talking to reporters.
Last week, the CPM state committee had decided to forward the P Karunakaran commission report which contains damaging revelations by VS's former private secretary S Rajendran to the Central Committee.
Criticizing Rajendran severely, VS alleged that Rajendran had tried to win the confidence of CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. "He was appointed by Vijayan. I had terminated his services midway following complaints. You can judge what would be his stand towards me, love or hate," he said, attributing the motive behind Rajendran's statement to the commission.
VS said the central leadership's stand towards that report had been clarified by the general secretary.
Admitting he had met former chief justices in his official capacity as the chief minister, VS said Rajendran was never a party to such meetings. "He stood outside and cooked up stories," he alleged. To a query about his visit to home minister Sivaraj Patil, VS said it was to discuss the Kiliroor-Kaviyoor cases. To questions why the CPM state committee accepted such reports, VS replied that it needed to be found out.
The veteran leader also used the opportunity to state that he didn't have any relation with K A Rauf or T G Nandakumar. Asked about Rauf's reported statement about his intervention to help VS in the ice cream parlour case, VS said he didn't want anyone's support to run legal battles. He, however, added that Rauf has admitted his past mistakes and is now trying to bring out the truth in the ice cream parlour case.
About Denying reports that T G Nandakumar was close to him, VS said, he was not a regular visitor.
"I had met him at Aluva palace and that day he came to convey some grievance. Rajendran, who mistook Crime Nandakumar as T G Nandakumar, misguided Vijayan. Crime Nandakumar had met me to complain about attack against his office," said VS.
