98th national conference of IMA in state capital

Thiruvananthapuram: The 98th national conference of IMA Tarang, will be held in the capital on 26, 27 and 28 of this month. The national conference is being held under the theme of “Scientific Vision, Healthy Nation”.It is being held at a time when the health sector worldwide is facing many unprecedented challenges. The continuing physical problems caused by the increasing lifestyle diseases, the financial burden on individuals, families, and the state due to it, the uncertainty in the treatment field due to antibiotic resistance and the subsequent social problems, said Dr Sreejith N Kumar, chairman, organising committee. More than 100 scientific sessions and presentation of more than 300 research papers will be held as part of this. The health manifesto prepared by IMA for the year 2050 will be presented as Thiruvananthapuram Declaration 2050.A scientific expo showcasing the development in various fields, a mega show showcasing the contributions of doctors in artistic and literary activities, Yuva Tarang, a parliament of young doctors and medical students, business conclave, CEO conclave, medical editors meet, women doctors conclave, will also be held.Dr R V Asokan from Kerala will take charge as the national president in this conference. Along with that, IMA’s positions in the fields of public health, health education and treatment for the next one year will be discussed. About 5000 doctors from different parts of India will participate. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will participate in the general meeting to be held on December 27.
