ULHASNAGAR: The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) achieved a record property tax collection and recorded the highest property tax collection so far in this past financial year.
According to the tax department, by March 31, the tax department of UMC collected a total property tax of Rs 127.11 crore, which is more than the previous financial year.
In the last financial year, the tax department collected a total tax of Rs 112 crore, due to which this time the municipal corporation collected a total tax of Rs 15 crore more.
The special thing is that in the last 11 months until February, this tax collection was only Rs 74 crore. In just one month, the tax department properly implemented the Abhay Yojana and collected a total of Rs 53 crore within a month.
As per the tax department, about 939 new properties were added in the city, resulting in an increase of Rs 6.90 crore in property tax generation.
There are a total of 183,550 property holders in Ulhasnagar city, which includes 136,543 residential property holders and 47,007 commercial properties.
