Samsung is rolls out its One UI 8.5 beta to Galaxy S25 users across six markets, bringing in new features for content creation, device connectivity, and security. The update promises to better how users work across Samsung's ecosystem with features like Storage Share, which provides instant access to files from phones, tablets, PCs, and even TVs through a single interface.
Photo Assist receives a major workflow enhancement, enabling uninterrupted AI image generation and editing without saving intermediate versions. Users can experiment freely, then browse their complete creation history to select the best results. Quick Share gets smarter with facial recognition that identifies people in photos and instantly suggests sharing with the right contacts, eliminating manual recipient selection.
Storage Share unifies files across your Galaxy ecosystem
The standout Storage Share feature dissolves boundaries between devices by surfacing files from all connected Galaxy hardware directly in the My Files app. Whether users need documents from their tablet, images from their PC, or videos from their phone, everything appears in one unified view accessible from any Samsung device. Auracast voice broadcasting extends this connectivity further, letting users transmit their voice through the phone's microphone to nearby LE Audio devices—perfect for guiding tours, coordinating events, or addressing groups without external equipment.
Theft protection adds multiple layers of device security
One UI 8.5 fortifies protection with intelligent safeguards against theft and unauthorized access. Failed Authentication Lock automatically freezes the device after repeated failed biometric or password attempts, while an expanded Identity Check now secures more system settings than previous versions. These additions complement existing security features to create comprehensive defense against device compromise.
The beta also includes refined Lock screen customization, weather-integrated alarms, upgraded Samsung Health reports, selective screen recording, and clearer battery usage insights.
Galaxy S25 owners in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US can join through Samsung Members.
