THANE: Thane Municipal Corporation's (TMC) senior official, who was injured in a hawker attack recently, was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
Kalpita Pimple, the assistant municipal commissioner (AMC) of the Majiwada-Manpada area, was attacked by the hawker during an anti-encroachment drive. She also lost three of her fingers and sustained injuries in the incident.
The TMC said that the officer was discharged from the private hospital where she was taking treatment and TMC chief Vipin Sharma interacted with her.

After the attack, several political leaders and ministers had met her to enquire about her health and also demand justice for her.
Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had also spoken to her on phone and assured her that stringent action will be taken against the accused while wishing her a speedy recovery.
