NEW DELHI: Police in Thane have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly murdering a 75-year-old woman, looting her jewellery and assaulting her 97-year-old mother at their farmhouse in Gandulwad village of Shahapur taluka. The crime took place during the intervening night of August 18 and 19. The victim, Veena Daulataram Harpalani (75), was bludgeoned to death with a blunt object, while her mother, Laxmi Narayandas Dalvani (97), sustained serious injuries.
