Teen chain snatchers held with ornaments worth over 2.6 lakh

Thane: Two teenagers from Mumbra, involved in a series of chain snatching incidents in Kalwa area were recently arrested, and stolen ornaments worth over 2.6lakh were recovered, police informed.
As per senior inspector Manohar Awhad of the Kalwa police station, they were investigating a case on a woman, 60, who was targeted by two bike-borne thieves near Parsik Nagar in January."Based on the information given by her, we activated our network within the area, and were tipped off about two men matching the description moving around in Kalwa east, after which we spotted them.”
They confessed the crime, and also informed about three other similar thefts. TNN
