Thane residents to wake up to dry taps today

THANE: Residents from various parts of the lake city will have to brace for a 24-hour water cut from Wednesday morning.

Officials said that the shutdown has been announced to ensure that there is proper distribution and management of water that is currently stocked at Shahad Temghar (STEM) water resource.

As per the notice, areas like Ghodbundar Road— including

Waghbil

,

Patlipada

, Azad Nagar, Kothari compound, Dongripada and Gandhinagar— will not receive water from Wednesday 9am till Thursday morning. Residents of Siddeshwar lake, Rutu park, Uthalsar, Saket, Retibundar, Mumbra-Koliwada, Sailesh Nagar and

Sanjay Nagar

will have to face a 12-hour water cut from Wednesday 9pm till Thursday 9am.

Meanwhile, the civic administration has also advised citizens to use water judiciously for the next couple of days, following the shut down as the flow may be affected.
