Relief for commuters: Metro-line 4 & flyover now side by side in Thane (Photos)

Built alongside Metro 4 -line

The flyover was constructed in coordination with the ongoing Metro Line 4 work in the area.

New flyover inaugurated

Cabinet minister Pratap Sarnaik opened the newly built flyover on the Thane–Gaimukh route, constructed by MMRDA to ease congestion at Kasarvadavli junction.

Commute time reduced

Motorists travelling from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane to Gujarat and western suburbs will save a few minutes, bypassing the congested Kasarvadavli junction.

Boost to infrastructure

The flyover is expected to significantly improve connectivity and ease travel for thousands of daily commuters in Thane and surrounding areas.

Second phase after Monsoon

Work on the second phase (Gaimukh to Thane direction) will begin after the monsoon ends.

Underpass for local traffic

An underpass is also included to allow safe crossover for local traffic between opposite lanes without adding to main road congestion.

Two-phase project

The first phase (800 metres, Thane to Gaimukh side) is now operational. The second phase (Gaimukh to Thane) will begin after the monsoon.

I hope the flyover is strong enough to last for 2 years at least. But just to be on safe side kindly place a sign board saying " USE FLYOVER AT YOUR OWN RISK NO CLAIMS WILL BE ENTERTAINED LATER" But the government will give Rs. 2L to the victims if the flyover crashes. So financially we are assured.
