THANA: A police official attached to the Mumbai Police was allegedly attacked by two men after he tried to question one of them for rash driving and overtaking him. The cop wasn't on duty at the time of the incident.

The official, associated with the

economic offense wing

in Mumbai, was travelling on the service lane towards Teen Haath Naka on Monday afternoon when a biker brushed against him and caused him to fall. When he tried to question him, the biker and his accomplice reportedly assaulted him. The victim said he identified himself as a policeman but despite this, the duo assaulted him.

A case was registered with the Wagale estate police station, said Sukhada Narkar, PRO of Thane police.
