MUMBAI: The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has imposed restrictions on the timings of restaurants, bars, banquet halls and shops till March 31.
Till Friday, seven hotspots have been identified in Mira Road and Bhayander. Restaurants, bars, food courts and banquet halls in these areas will have close business at 11pm, instead of the existing 1 am. Shops will have to shut down an hour early at 10pm.
The hotspots are mostly residential colonies. Poonam Sagar complex in Mira Road, Sadanana Nagar in Murdha village of Bhayander (west), vicinity of Hotel Sai Leela in Penkarpada, Kashimira are some of the containment zones.
Restaurants, hotels, food courts in non-containment zones can continue to operate as per regular timings from 7am to 1am. Shops in non-containment zones can remain open as usual from 9am to 11pm.
The total Covid cases in the region was 27,797 on Friday. The active cases are 792. Mira Road continues to report the maximum Covid-19 cases in the region followed by Bhayander west.
