Thane: The city traffic personnel reunited three children with their parents on Monday. The kids, Kunal Sable (13), Nikhil Jadhav (14) and his brother Vishal (15) had come to Thane after running away from home on Monday.
Traffic head constable Sudhakar Chaudhari spotted the trio who were looking lost and worried. "I inquired with them about their whereabouts and they spun a story about how they were kidnapped and brought to Thane in a white car with their mouths tied. They claimed they were unconscious because of some chemical dose they had administered. When I went to check the car as the boys informed it is parked near Thane railway station, I didn't see any vehicle. I got a little suspicious and asked the boys again if they were lying. They admitted to their lie and said had runaway from home. But they confessed that they were missing their parents and wanted to return," said Chaudhari.
The constable then contacted the children's parents and asked them to come to Thane. The parents who are daily wage workers arrived Thane to pick up their kids. "We were playing outside our home and had some tiff with our parents. We decided to make a quick trip to Mumbai, which would give them some time away from their parents. We boarded a train from Nashik and arrived at Igatpuri. We also tried to call up and inform our parents, as they would be worried. But unfortunately the call did not connect," said Vishal Jadhav. However, when the trio landed in Thane they were only worried and were missing their parents already. They made up a fake story and thought the cop would help in reaching back home.
"The boys were missing and we were wondering about the call from Igatpuri. We got a call from Thane traffic cops that the boys were safe with them," said Pitambar Jadhav (32), father of the two boys.
