NEW DELHI: Around 250 residents were evacuated after a fire broke out in a five-storey building in Thane's Wagle Estate area on Sunday morning, officials said.
The fire started around 5am in a laundry shop on the ground floor of the building in Srinagar, according to Yasin Tadvi, head of Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell.
Firefighters and disaster management teams quickly responded, extinguishing the fire within an hour and safely evacuating the residents.
No injuries were reported, and residents were allowed to return to their apartments after the fire was contained. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
