He had even expressed his suspicions about the character of Ilyas' wife Rabiya.
PSI Vikramsinh Rathod questioned Rabiya and traced calls that Ilyas had made from his mobile during his last days. Ilyas had last talked to his sister-in-law Zarina. The same evening he also had a long chat with his brother-in-law. Police detained Zarina. During interrogation, she confessed that she had relations with Ilyas. As her sister Rabiya also had affair with many men, the couple quarrelled frequently.
"Rabiya talked to me about getting rid of Ilyas and along with my another lover Aslam we hatched the plot to kill Ilyas," she said.
Rabiya and Zarina met on April 14, as their father was in hospital. As planned, Zarina invited Ilyas to Chovisi in Navsari. After giving him sleeping pills, Aslam dashed him against the fencing. Later, he burnt his clothes and threw the body in the rivulet nearby.
Based on Zarina's confessions, police rounded up Rabiya from Sachin pardi, Aslam from Vesma. The trio was handed over to the Navsari rural police.
