Varachha triple murder: One more arrested

Surat: Police arrested the eighth accused in the sensational triple murder at Varachha on May 14 from near here on Saturday. Ganesh Goyani, 51, was produced before a local court which remanded him in police custody for five days on Sunday. Ganesh was present at the spot of murder along with six others in Modi Moholla of Varachha.
Ganesh, father of main accused Gautam alias Golden and Komal, was nabbed from Kamrej.He had come to Kamrej where his family stays to collect cash from some known persons. He was on the run ever since the murder. Police have so far arrested Mehul Bharwad, 18, Imran Bharwad alias Saiyed, 29, Komal Goyani, 25, a minor accused, Gautam alias Golden alias Montu Goyani, 22, Kishan Ramesh Khokhar, 22, and Bhadresh alias Kalu Uka Patoliya, 30. They were remanded in police custody after their arrest and now are in jail.
Ganesh informed police that he escaped from the city in a car with Gautam, Kishan and Bhadresh. They collected cash from Komal at Kamrej and they went up to Tarapur in that car which they later abandoned it there. Ganesh separated from others with Rs 10,000 in cash and hid himself in the forest area near an ashram in Junagadh. He returned to Surat when he exhausted the money. Police have sought Ganesh's custody to investigate his role in the murder.
