SURAT: Surat police is in search of a killer horse and its owner for death of a motorcycle rider in Katargam area. The police is trying to trace the horse with a CCTV footage.
Police booked an unidentified person, owner of a horse, in Katargam police station on Monday for death of a 56-year-old man. The deceased was knocked by the horse on September 18 and he died due to severe injuries few days later during treatment at a hospital.
Police booked the unidentified owner of the horse following complaint of Bhavana Patel, 52, wife of Parul Kumar who died in the accident during treatment at a hospital on September 26.

The deceased suffered severe injuries on head that led to his death. Police booked the accused for death by negligence and negligent conduct with respect to animal.
Police are yet to identify the horse or its owner. However, police got a video of the horse in which the animal is visible. Police got a CCTV footage captured at a nearby location where the accident took place. From the video police reached to a conclusion that the horse must have been owned by someone since it had a red collar in its neck.
“The horse looks healthy and it seems that it has escaped from its owner’s place. We are trying to identify the horse by questioning locals but did not receive any specific information. Owner of the horse is also not identified yet,” said police.
