PAAS wants action against IPS officer

Surat: Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) members on Tuesday gave a memorandum to city police commissioner Satish Sharma demanding actions against joint commissioner of police (JCP) sector I Harikrishna Patel over his speech during a Patidar community event. The video of Patel’s speech had gone viral on social media recently.

The PAAS members demanded that Patel be suspended for his speech or at least he should be transferred from the city.

In a video that went viral Patel is heard requesting the community members to stop their children from joining the quota movement claiming that it was being run by anti-social elements.

“We have submitted the memorandum to the police commissioner. We are going to make representation to the State Human Rights Commission, home minister and chief minister also,” said Dharmik Malaviya, PAAS convener.

The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti has alleged that the police officer was acting as a BJP agent and made deliberate attempts to crush the Patidar quota movement.
