Offices in diamond factory gutted, no casualty reported

Surat: A few offices on the third floor of a building in the premises of Hari Krishna Exports in the Gem and Jewellery Park at Ichhapore were engulfed in fire on Friday morning. No casualties were reported as there were no employees present in the office at the time of the incident. The Surat Fire and Emergency Services (SFES) control room received a call at 8.37am on Friday. Soon five fire tenders reached the spot and controlled the fire in 45 minutes. “No employee was present in the office. Only furniture and fixtures were destroyed. The fire was controlled before it could spread,” said a fire officer.An official from Hari Krishna Exports said: “The office was not in use and also the incident happened in the early hours. There were no valuables in that portion of the building.’’
