SURAT: A 27-year-old man, an accused in a murder case, was stabbed to death in broad daylight in front of the Surat district and sessions court on Friday.
Suraj Yadav, who was out on bail and had been externed from the city, had come to the court for hearing of the murder case against him when he was attacked on a public road in front of the court. Police suspect it to be a pre-planned murder.
Yadav, a resident of Sachin GIDC area, died of heavy blood loss and multiple stabbing injuries.

He was attacked around 1pm and was shifted to New Civil Hospital where doctors declared him dead. His father, Indrajeet, who is a grocery-shop owner, lodged the police complaint.
Police booked Karan Rajput and Dhiraj for their alleged involvement in Yadav’s murder. Few other persons were involved in the attack but police are yet to identify them.

Police investigation revealed Rajput put a status on his social media saying ‘Hamne apne bhai ka Durgesh Yadav ka badla le liya hai court k bahar badla, khun k badle khun’ (We have taken revenge for our brother Durgesh Yadav’s murder outside the court, murder for murder).
Preliminary police investigation revealed that Yadav was attacked as part of a pre-planned murder. Police sources said that the accused are part of a gang that operates in Sachin GIDC area.
Yadav is one of the accused in the murder of Durgesh Yadav. About eight months ago, Durgesh was killed and Yadav was arrested by Sachin GIDC police. Other accused in the case,
Manish Jha and Sandip alias Gaddi, had also been arrested.
Three months ago, Yadav was released on bail and was externed from the city. He used to stay with his elder brother, Chandan, a medical student at AIIMS, New Delhi.
On Friday, Yadav arrived in the city and went to the court to appear in the hearing. His friend Ravi Chauhan was with him. Later, Chauhan alerted Indrajeet over the phone about the attack.
“The key accused have been identified and police will arrest them. Police are investigating the case to find out who else is involved in the murder,” said a police officer.
