Surat: An unidentified owner of a horse responsible for the death of a 56-year-old man was booked at Katargam police station on Monday. The man, who was knocked down by the horse on September 18, was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on September 26.
The horse owner was booked on a complaint of Bhavana Patel (52), wife of deceased Parul Kumar.
The accused was booked for causing death by negligence and negligent conduct with respect to the animal. Parul Kumar had suffered severe injuries on head and these had led to his death later.
The police have got a CCTV grab of the horse near the location of the accident, but are yet to locate its owner. Police believe the horse must have been owned by someone since it wore a red collar on its neck.
“The horse looks healthy and seems to have escaped from its owner’s place,” the police said.
The horse rammed into Parul Kumar, who was going home on his motorcycle on September 18 near Ratnamala building in Katargam. He was employed with a textile firm.
