Botad student held for morphing pics of 200 women

police station on Monday arrested a 20-year-old student of Primary Teacher’s Certificate (PTC) college in Botad for allegedly morphing photographs of women from social media. The accused used to threaten the women of sharing their morphed photos online and pressurised them to share more photos with him.


Jagdish Makwana, a resident of Khambhda of Botad, was arrested for allegedly morphing pictures of over 200 women.

The accused is studying at PTC

Bhavnagar

was booked under various sections of

Indian Penal Code

for defamation, criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication and Information Technology Act.

Police investigation revealed that the Makwana opened multiple accounts on photo sharing site Instagram and started following women. He used to sent private massage to the women asking them to share more photos. If they refused Makwana used to send them their own morphed obscene photos.

He even issued threats to the girls saying that he would share a collage of their morphed pictures on social media if they didn’t share more photos with him.

“The accused used to spend several hours daily editing photos of the women,” said a police officer.
