Jai Ram slams CM over strike by trainee docs
Shimla: Himachal leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday questioned chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over a strike by trainee doctors of Ner Chowk Medical College in Mandi. Thakur said that the chief minister should tell the public why these trainee doctors are protesting, and why their genuine demands are not being fulfilled. “The CM makes big promises in front of the media, but the actual situation is different. This govt is not even giving trainee doctors their stipend for four months,” said the former chief minister. He added that the students studying medicine are from ordinary families, for whom the stipend is very important.
“Why are many facilities available to the people being snatched away every day. Why are the hospitals of the state in such a bad shape,” questioned Thakur. The leader of opposition also questioned as to why are cases of illegal mining rising across the state, and under whose protection are they operating.
