Govt not fulfilling promises to minorities: SDPI
The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) launched the 'Chalo Belagavi Ambedkar Jatha-2' from Udupi on Monday, demanding social justice and the restoration of the 2B reservation for minorities. The march, traversing several districts, will culminate in Belagavi on December 16. SDPI leaders criticized the Congress government for not fulfilling its pre-election promise regarding the reservation despite securing minority votes.

Tripura's Congress party has accused the ruling BJP of politically motivated removal of around 40,622 beneficiaries from social pension schemes. The BJP had promised to increase pensions and expand eligibility but instead, Congress alleges, they've reduced the beneficiary count using unreasonable pretexts like lack of birth certificates or divorce documents, impacting vulnerable populations.
