DHARAMASALA: Police seized the official vehicle of
BJP MLA and deputy chairman of state planning board
Ramesh Dhawala
late on Wednesday following a complaint of violation of the model code of conduct ahead of the
Lok Sabha elections
.
The complaint was filed by Congress leader and former MLA from Jawalamukhi Sanjay Rattan. Rattan alleged that instead of submitting his official vehicle with the government, the leader is keeping it with himself.
The sub-divisional magistrate with other officials had visited the place where the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was found parked near the government rest house of the Jawalamukhi constituency.
Rattan, in his complaint, alleged that the vehicle was being used for election campaigning. However, Dhawala said that the allegations were baseless and it was the driver who had to submit the vehicle in Shimla but due to a marriage of his relatives, it got delayed.
