Guv honours citizens of Uttarakhand, Jharkhand
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said on Thursday that the central government has started the tradition of celebrating the foundation days of states in Raj Bhavan, which reiterates the concept of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’
Shukla said that the event's objective includes connecting people. He was speaking at a ‘Milan Program’ organized in the Raj Bhavan for the citizens of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand living in Himachal to commemorate the foundation days of these states. "We should not forget our values and neither should we turn away from development," said Shukla.
Uttarakhand is also called Devbhoomi and the sanctity of religious places should also be maintained, said the governor. DGP Atul Verma, who belongs to Jharkhand, and additional chief secretary KK Pant, a native of Uttarakhand, also spoke on the occasion.
