Jai Ram: Efforts on to overthrow Cong govt
Shimla: Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister and leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday said that BJP has started efforts to overthrow the Congress govt as the state is on the verge of auction during its two-year rule.
Addressing a gathering during the “Jan Aakrosh” protest at CTO in Shimla, Jai Ram said that the Congress govt has done nothing good for the state in its two-year term. “The government lacks economic resources, employees are not receiving salaries, and pensioners are not getting pensions on time. Outsourced employees have been waiting for salaries for four months, yet crores are being spent on celebrations of two years of the Congress government on Wednesday,” he said.
“In two years, Congress has only lost trust, confidence, and support, and along with that, Himachal’s reputation has suffered nationwide, leading the BJP to protest in anger,” he added. When it comes to guarantees, those promises have not been fulfilled, and the Congress leaders are trying to create an atmosphere by telling blatant lies, which is very unfortunate, said Jai Ram. A large number of people are attending BJP’s “Jan Aakrosh” programme at all district headquarters, and the BJP has started the process of overthrowing the Congress government through this programme, he added.
Himachal BJP in-charge Shrikant Sharma said when the Congress govt was formed in the state, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra made noise across the country, promoting false guarantees in all states. “But today, I bow to the people of Himachal, who, through BJP members across the country, have exposed the dishonest and corrupt Congress's false promises and guarantees,” he added.
