SDRF recovers body of boy who drowned in Umiam
Shillong: The SDRF on Saturday recovered the body of a minor boy who was reported missing and drowned in the Umiam river at Nonglum Mawiong village, Ri Bhoi District. The body is believed to be that of Biki Makri aged 10 years and the child of Jantilin Makri hailing from Nonglum Mawiong village in Ri Bhoi, an SDRF statement said, reports Manosh Das.

A three-year-old boy named Ritheesh tragically drowned in an open swimming pool at a bungalow in Chennai's Injambakkam. While his father Sukumaran cleaned a car and his mother worked in the kitchen, Ritheesh slipped into the pool. Despite immediate rescue efforts and medical attention, he was declared dead on arrival at Government Royapettah Hospital.
