Andhra Pradesh rains: SDRF teams rescue stranded people

SDRF conducted six rescues in Andhra Pradesh, saving 588 lives across districts like Nuzividu and Vijayawada. Rescued groups included factory workers, residents, police families, and train passengers. Four bodies were recovered. In light of continuing heavy rains, SDRF teams remain on high alert for further operations.

In Nuzividu, Eluru district, SDRF saved 62 individuals trapped in floodwaters.
VIJAYAWADA: State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) said that the agency conducted six rescue operations, saving 588 lives across several districts, including Nuzividu, Kanchikacherla, Ibrahimpatnam, and Vijayawada. SDRF teams including 37 members used ropes to evacuate those stranded from floodwaters, including workers trapped in a factory, local residents, police families, and train passengers.They recovered four bodies.In Nuzividu, Eluru district, SDRF saved 62 individuals trapped in floodwaters. With the situation worsening, some of the rescued individuals were relocated to safer locations via tractor.SDFRF also evacuated 50 workers stranded at NUCON Blocks factory in Paritala, Kanchikacherla.In another operation, the SDRF team rescued 300 local residents who were trapped by heavy floodwaters in Shantinagar, Ibrahimpatnam. The SDRF team rescued five family members of police personnel caught in floodwaters in Rayanapadu, Vijayawada. The families were relocated to a secure shelter on 100 Feet Road.At Rayanapadu Railway Station in Vijayawada, SDRF team used ropes to rescue stranded passengers from a train surrounded by floodwaters. As heavy rains continue to batter AP, SDRF teams remain on high alert, ready to deploy and conduct further rescue operations as needed.
