Christmas just about a couple of days away and the New Year to be ushered in a little more than a week from now, the Meghalaya health and family welfare department on Thursday issued a health advisory for Covid protocol to be followed during the festive season.
Minister of health and family welfare, Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh reviewed the status of Covid in the state in view of the recent surge in infections in some parts of the country.
The meeting was attended by the officials of the health department.
“As of now, the new variant which has been declared as a variant of interest by the World Health Organization, although identified earlier this year, does not pose any new risk or new symptoms. There is no need for any alarm,” a statement issued by the health department said.
