2 kids, youth drown in separate incidents

Krishnagiri/Namakkal: A 7-year-old boy and his 11-year-old sister drowned in a lake near Pochampalli in Krishnagiri district on Saturday evening.
Police said M Vinoth of Muthu Nagar and his sister Buvana were playing near the lake in their village. They fell into the lake and drowned one after another. The children’s father Murugan alerted fire and rescue services personnel, who came to the spot and fished out the bodies.
In another incident, R Pravin, 20, a college student, drowned in a check dam at Jedarpalayam village in Namakkal district on Saturday. Pravin, a native of Mullaivadi near Attur in Salem district, went to his friend house in the village. Fire and rescue services personnel retrieved the body. Meanwhile, chief minister M K Stalin on Sunday expressed his condolences to kin of the deceased and announced solatium of 1 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
