Various districts in Jharkhand observe Republic Day with pride; Honoring martyrs and leaders enhances community spirit
Ranchi/Jamshedpur/Hazaribag/Ramgarh/Chatra: Different districts on Monday held various programmes to mark the Republic Day with great patriotic fervour. In East Singhbhum, the 77th Republic Day was celebrated with joy and solemnity by various entities.
Speaking at the govt programme at the Gopal Maidan, East Singhbhum DC Karn Satyarthi lauded the contributions of the martyrs of the state. The administration also recalled the contribution of veteran statehood leader Shibu Soren, who was awarded Padma Bhushan posthumously, for his contribution to tribal upliftment.
At Tata Steel, the company’s VP (corporate services), D B Sundara Ramam, said the steel major remains committed to being the nation’s partner in its journey towards a Viksit Bharat aligned with the vision of India becoming a developed nation by 2047. The flag hoisting ceremony took place at the Tata Motors office.
In Hazaribag district, DC Shashi Prakash Singh hoisted the tricolour at the Hazaribag stadium. On the occasion, an impressive parade was presented by the BSF, CRPF, District Armed Police, and NCC cadets.
At NTPC’s North Karanpura plant in Chatra district, the head of the project, Alok Kumar Tripathi, hoisted the Tricolour. Addressing employees and stakeholders, he said the plant has achieved its highest-ever power generation, reflecting improved operational efficiency and teamwork. He also underlined the PSU’s focus on community welfare by highlighting a slew of CSR initiatives.
In the Rajrappa area of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) of Ramgarh district, the PSU handed over employees' promotion letters after the formal flag hosting ceremony. Rajiv Singh, general manager of the Rajrappa area, said a total of 15 employees were given promotion letters. Ramgarh DC Faiz Aq Ahmad Mumtaz unfurled the national flag at the Sidhu Kanhu ground in Ramgarh.
At the CMPDI headquarters in Ranchi, CMD Chaudhari Shivraj Singh unfurled the national flag. In his address, Singh said, “Against the target of 11 lakh metres of drilling for the financial year 2025-26, CMPDI has done 7.56 lakh metres till December 2025, out of which 2.87 lakh metres have been done through departmental resources. Against the departmental target of 450-line kilometre 2D/3D seismic survey, a 207-line kilometre seismic survey has also been done till December 2025.”
Singh added that CMPDI, which is in the non-coal sector, has successfully completed exploration work in one base metal and one bauxite block in Jharkhand.
