Two Class IX Students Drown in Kharkai River, Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur: Two boys drowned in the Kharkai river in adjoining Adityapur town on Thursday when they had gone to take a bath.Three Class IX boys of the Central Public School (CPS Adityapur) went to the dam over the Kharkai river at Asangi in RIT police station limits to take a bath. While Raunak Bhardwaj (15) and Godwin Thomas (15) jumped into the water body, their friend Prashant Kumar was waiting on the edge, preparing for the plunge when he noticed the other two sinking into the deep water.“I tried to call people for help, but they couldn’t be saved,” Prashant told the media.The RIT police station in-charge, Sanjiv Kumar Singh, said that the bodies were recovered late evening following long hours of rescue operation.
