Ranchi: A special judge of anti-corruption bureau (ACB) court has allowed default bail to suspended IAS officer Vinay Choubey in a disproportionate assets case as the chargesheet was not filed within the prescribed period by the bureau.
Choubey, in his petition, sought the default bail on the ground that the ACB has not submitted the chargesheet within the stipulated 60 days of the judicial remand of the accused person in the case.
He has been in judicial custody in the case since Jan 28, 2026. The petition was filed on March 30.
He, however, would not come out of jail as he is in custody in connection with the Hazaribag land scam case.
