Chatra: A 25-year-old man was arrested with a stolen motorcycle under Hunterganj police station limits here on Sunday night. While Vishnu Ganjhu was arrested during a vehicle checking drive near Kauleshwari Hatwaria Road, his accomplice managed to flee the spot, the police said on Monday.
Ganjhu, the police said, is a resident of Kolwa village under Jori Vashisht Nagar police station area.
Police said the vehicle checking drive was being carried out on the directives of SP Sumit Agarwal when Ganjhu and his accomplice, who were on a motorcycle, refused to stop when instructed to. They tried to escape in the cover of darkness as cops chased the duo. While one managed to flee, Ganjhu was arrested after sustaining an injury to his leg.
Hunterganj police station officer-in-charge Prabhat Kumar Singh said raids are underway to nab the absconding accomplice.
