Speeding bike kills 5-year-old boy in Chatra, driver held

Chatra: A five-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a speeding motorcycle in Parsouni village under Itkhori police station limits of the district late on Tuesday. The child, identified as Mohammad Arham, was killed on the spot.A resident of Karma village in Chouparan block in Hazaribag district, Arham had arrived at his maternal grandparents’ house at Parsouni earlier in the day and was playing outside the house when the bike hit him around 10 pm.A team led by Abhishek Singh, the officer-in-charge of Itkhori police station, reached the spot. The accused biker, identified as Manish Saw (24), was arrested and the bike was seized.Singh said, “The body was sent to Chatra sadar hospital for postmortem on Wednesday morning. We are questioning Manish to know about this accident for further course of action.”
