JAMSHEDPUR: The
Road Safety Week observed by
Tata Steel, which started on January 1, concluded on Wednesday.
The steel major organized various activities throughout the week to create road safety-awareness among the employees. Some of the activities included safety talk in various departments, mass meetings, positive reinforcements on road safety and an online intranet quiz on the issue among employees.
"Infrastructure is an issue which needs to be addressed along with inculcating attitudinal and behavioural changes to ensure better road safety," said Tata Steel deputy vice-president, corporate services, Sunil Bhaskaran while addressing the concluding function of the event.
He also talked about the significant changes that have been effected in the field of road safety by Tata Steel after its association with DuPont.
Road Safety Week is observed every year throughout the country under the guidance of the ministry of road, transport and highways.
It is held in the first week of January.
