Ranchi rail div ranks fourth in E-Drishti monthly index

RANCHI: Ranchi railway division of South Eastern Railways (

SER

) ranked fourth among all the nationwide railway divisions on the Centre’s E-Drishti portal for December 2021.

In a statement, the division said it was ranked after Ajmer railway division (first),

division (second) and Dhanbad railway division (third) after scoring 88.62% in various performance-index parameters. “This was the first time the Ranchi railway division broke into the top five of the rankings,” the statement read. There are 68 railway divisions across the country.

E-Drishti, which was rolled out by the railways after the Narendra Modi-led government was re-elected to a second term in office in 2019, is an online monitoring system of the divisions. The divisions are evaluated on the aspects of passenger amenities such as waiting halls, platforms, cleanliness, availability of CCTVs and water treatment plants within the station complex,

connectivity, hospital amenities, promotion of trade and commerce and evaluation of operations management. Divisions are mandated to upload photographs about their amenities.
