Hazaribag: A total of10 members of the notorious Rahul Dubey ganghave been arrested in the December 31 Urimari firing case, police said on Thursday.
After notorious gangster Aman Sahu was eliminated, his gang divided into two groups — one led by Rahul Singh and the other by Rahul Dubey. Dubey gang members are accused in several criminal cases, including those related to firing, extortion, threat, murder, in Ranchi, Hazaribag, Ramgarh, Chatra, and Latehar.
Shots were fired near the house of Dasai Manjhi at Hesabera in Hazaribag district. The Rahul Dubey gang reportedly took responsibility for the attack. A case was lodged with the Urimari outpost.
SP Anjani Anjan said, “On the night of Jan 7, police received intelligence input that Rahul Dubey gang member Shiv Raj alias Shiva, along with his associates, was planning a criminal activity near Baghariya football ground at Urimari. Acting on the tip-off, the SIT, led by Sadar SDPO Amit Anand, arrested nine from the spot, while others managed to flee. Later, one more was arrested from the area. Five country-made pistols, 17 live cartridges and six phones were seized from the arrested accused.”
“The gang was involved in multiple incidents of firing and extortion across Jharkhand. Several arrested members confessed to their role in earlier crimes, including firing incidents in Murkunda and Kujju," he said.
