Over 200 Jharkhand workers stuck in Sikkim send SOS

GUMLA: Over 200 migrant labourers from Jharkhand, mostly from Gumla and a few from Lohardaga, Simdega, Latehar and other districts, are stranded in flood-hit Sikkim at a school camp.

The devastating flash flood ravaged Sikkim early on Wednesday inundating the project site where these labourers were at work.

They requested chief minister Hemant Soren for help and evacuate them immediately as they are going through a harrowing time at the Sirwar. Gumla DC Karn Satyarthi said they have coordinated with the state migrant labour control cell which is compiling the list of such labourers.
