Operation against crime spree: 47 criminals arrested in Hazaribag; police conduct extensive raids across district, recovering stolen goods
Hazaribag: Altogether 47 criminals, including four thieves, were arrested on Monday night as part of a special drive under Lohsingna police station, police said on Tuesday.
Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar said that a theft took place on the night of May 15 at a house in Mandai village under Lohsingna police station limits. “All four have been forwarded to judicial custody,” he said. They were identified as Farid Alam alias Bhopat, Nishant Hussain alias Nishu, Talib Khan and Abbu Obaida.
Police also recovered several stolen items from their possession, including brass utensils such as plates, bowls, lamps, pots, buckets and glasses, along with a drill machine and cutter machine, he said.
Acting on the directions of the SP, a special raid was conducted across the district on Monday night involving 30 teams comprising around 120 officers.
The teams conducted raids at 70 locations and arrested 43 accused in various crimes, said the SP. “Police also executed 39 warrants and attachment-related actions,” he said.
