Dumka: Godda MP Nishikant Dubey on Wednesday said the new UGC regulations will be corrected to satisfy the concerns of general category students and the community at large.
Addressing a press conference in Dumka, the BJP lawmaker referred to the submission of the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta in the
Supreme Court that the Union govt would come forward with a corrected one.

"There must be no doubt, after the submission of the Solicitor General, who represented the central govt in the Supreme Court during the hearing of the UGC matter, that regulations will be suitably corrected to incorporate the concerns of the general category students," Dubey said.
Dubey also referred to the introduction of 10 per cent reservation for economically backward general category students by the Centre, stating that it helped raise the number of community members in govt jobs and educational institutes.
Asked about the mobilisation of SC/ST and OBC students on university campuses elsewhere, insisting on the status quo of the UGC regulations, Dubey said the govt would not succumb to such pressure tactics.
