"There must be no doubt, after the submission of the Solicitor General, who represented the central govt in the Supreme Court during the hearing of the UGC matter, that regulations will be suitably corrected to incorporate the concerns of the general category students," Dubey said.Dubey also referred to the introduction of 10 per cent reservation for economically backward general category students by the Centre, stating that it helped raise the number of community members in govt jobs and educational institutes.Asked about the mobilisation of SC/ST and OBC students on university campuses elsewhere, insisting on the status quo of the UGC regulations, Dubey said the govt would not succumb to such pressure tactics.
